In 2010 I have committed to adding posts that help the Job Seeker with practical and useful information. After interviewing a number of Job Seekers who have become dejected by the lack of response they receive in their online employment searches, I realized that there are 2 common mistakes that are easy to correct when conducting an online search.
What most people do not understand is that employers or headhunters do not (and I repeat DO NOT) sift through thousands of resumes posted on the online Job Boards such as Monster and Career Builder. Instead they utilize software similar to the Google spiders to select resumes with certain keywords related to their job posting making your offline resume totally obsolete and "unfindable" when it comes to online employment searches. Online resumes begin with a Keyword Search Section at the very upper portion of the document and should be written in a simple text font and format that can be CUT and PASTED into the body of the email when responding to a job posting.
The second biggest mistake is made when responding to a job post by sending the resume as an attachment. This opens the recipient of the email to viruses and more steps in his or her process. Most of the time, these resumes are never even downloaded.
So, if you have been feeling invisible in your search, commit to making yourself findable among the millions. Add a keyword search section at the top of your resume. You can do this by selecting descriptive words from several ads that represent your ideal job and categorizing your keywords by skill sections before your professional experience.
And secondly, start cutting and pasting your resume into the body of the email. These are two easy steps you can take to make yourself findable and visible to employers and headhunters!

Be Love and You Will See Love Infinitely Multiplying Itself Everywhere
"Make a gift of your life and lift all mankind by being kind,
considerate, forgiving, and compassionate at all times, in all
places, and under all conditions, with everyone as well
as yourself. This is the greatest gift anyone can give."
— David Hawkins: Psychiatrist, spiritual author, and lecturer
In the last few months, I have had the incredible experience of connecting and coaching a number of nonprofit executives from around the world. People who have a passion for people fired by a loving heart! Their love is in motion creating solutions that fill a variety of needs from feeding and educating children in Uganda to economic development in Haiti and building pharmacies in Rwanda. So strong is their commitment that many of these leaders use their own personal funds to initiate and maintain their programs. What tremendous sacrifice and generosity but in their minds and hearts, they are driven because they are just doing what is right. With humility, integrity, courage and faith, these men and women have embraced their life vision and purpose! And they are living it! I want to share my gratitude for their efforts to 'lift all mankind' by their compassion and love.
Use the principles of the law of attraction! If you want to create wealth, abundance and prosperity in your life, select an organization of your choice and donate. Give. Be generous of heart and you will only receive more! And you never know from where or from whom your gifts will come but you will receive!
Be love and you will see it everywhere and in everyone. Love calls forth Love.

That which We Are Not
I decided to become a Life Coach because of my own experiences of reinvention. Crucial to my evolution, however, was my process of involution. This is the process through which most of us discover who and what we are not. Unless someone has never been conditioned, the process of self-assessment and discard, that is involution, becomes the base understanding of who we are 'not' and who we might become.
It was explained to me with a wonderful story (and I pass it down with imperfections, I am sure) that has been retold many times by many masters. It is a story of Michelangelo, the famous Renaissance sculptor. As he worked in the courtyard, a passerby asked him what he was doing. As he chiseled the cold, hard marble, he responded that he was uncovering a statue. The passerby asked where the statue was. Michelangelo's response was that the statue was already present. He was just removing what was unnecessary. Ah!!! Whether the story or the rendition is true and exact, it so expresses the work ahead of so many of us as what we are not stands in the way of the clarity of our life vision. How can a vision depart from a false sense of who we are, the part that we are not but yet hold dearly onto??
Involution can be a lengthy process (and for some may never happen). With the development of focusing and assessment tools, this process can be guided and quickened. The faster we come to this base understanding of who we are not, the faster and clearer our vision. It emerges from a center that has been uncovered. From emptiness, It is able to achieve Its full expression of itself! An expression of love through a life well-lived… the way you design it!

Trust and Courage
Trust and Courage. Enormous words. I have rested many times in their solace. Especially during the difficult periods of life where my direction had not made itself apparent. Who or what do we trust? Where and how do we access courage? The forever resource of existence is always at our disposal, always flowing with abundance, encouragement, and creativity but do we remember to listen?
For many of us, our negative self-talk is dominant. It urges us to expect and believe the worst. These negative programs have been so well installed in our cellular memories. Each time I remind myself to have trust and courage, my physical dimension relaxes into the depths of existence. This important signal, relaxation, points to what is nurturing to us. Negative self-talk has the opposite effect. It contracts us physically and energetically.
Trust and courage reminds us to review our past accomplishments and take note of how we achieved them. If we look closely, it is step-by-step; each simple task executed. I was once told, we are never given more than a spoon to handle anything in life. The spoon is a symbol of what we need to handle each day to accomplish what we envision. But many of think we need to be a genius making great strides (using shovels and cranes) each day and magically our life is in place! If I look back at my greatest accomplishments, they consisted of very ordinary..spoonful tasks..that I accomplished each day. And in such an ordinary way, an entire organization developed. An acting career was created. Motherhood happened.
So if it so easy, why don't we just do it! What blocks us from consistently staying in the "know"? Simply, our thoughts. Become aware of your thoughts, your self-talk. What is it telling you? How is it manifesting in your life? What is it you are creating?
Take full responsibility that your life is what YOU are creating and then for a few days, each time you hear your negative self-talk, repeat the words trust and courage. And celebrate your awareness!

Welcome
I cannot help think that opportunity lies before us as individuals and a global community for profound transformation. So many have lost so much. We are fearful and way too vulnerable. When we view this in the context of the work of existence, it is clear that this loss has created a space, a void. As is in meditation, it is the spaces between the notes and the spaces between the breaths where the greatest expansion occurs. Perhaps it is time to just be in that space. Feel this space. If we just allow ourselves to be in a space of without, we continue to breathe and exist in our human form. We do not suddenly zap into a vacuum that is sure to bring our death. We can still hear the birds and feel the spring.
What is it that will replace our losses?
I remember reading about the caretakers who existed in the Jewish prison camps in Poland and Germany and that there were prisoners who gave up their food and comforted others while they themselves were disintegrating into skeletons as well. This struck me! In every situation, there is the opportunity to respond in wholeness, in love, in generosity, in kindness.
For some who have lost employment, such as some General Motors employees, they have decided to work in homeless shelters and help the children who reside in them. Giving homework and reading lessons and fixing bicycles. What a glorious way to fill the space created by the loss of job and money. What a powerful expression of humanity! This is what I mean by the opportunities that lie before us, the different forms of expression, one that we have never taken on before, is there for us to risk! And who knows what can happen! Trust and Courage
